It’s hard to believe, but the midterm elections are only a few days away.
Israel has had an indecisive one, but I hope that the US will have a more definitive answer for the unbridled scoundreldom we still suffer, like sniffing the rotting flesh of a fish out of the water too long. I see columns about how MAGA is on the decline, somewhat like the tea party a few years back. Or was the tea party a forerunner to MAGA, egged on by the mass of disaffected Americans left behind by our new overlords, Musk, Altman, Zuckerberg and Bezos?
Musk, completely wrapped up in his own assholishness, a paradigm of both autism and sociopathy, does make great cars, rockets and satellites, the latter of which is being used as a lever against Ukrainians spilling their blood on behalf of the West and their own freedom. Musk with the empathy of a crocodile, does not care. His goal is trillions and power, not necessarily in that order.
The campaign advertising, even on the local level, has been a crashing bore; a slew of name calling, fearmongering, and appeal to the basest of emotions.
Here in Florida, we are faced with two indigestible candidates for the US Senate. One a shrill, ignorant activist of no discernable intellect and the other, an even dumber reactionary. Seems Florida could have done better.
And looking around, the Ramaswami blow up revealed more about his character than even his smug arrogance. A kind of know-it-all offensiveness matched only by JD Vance’s slurs against Europeans who are now supporting Ukraine against Putin, a murdering and brutal dictator, despite Steve Witkof’s conferring the title of “humanitarian” on him. Perhaps when the Nobel committee bestows the peace prize on Vladdy, he will give it to the Donald, in a display of gratitude just as did Maria Machado, hoping to wend her way back to Venezuela by gaining the blessings of our dear leader. Apparently it worked, because she is back in Venezuela now and hopefully no one will kill her. Maria better stay out of the way of Trump’s oil deals.
And Trump? He’s busy running around the country, trying to ensure that he will retain a majority in at least the Senate, so that he will not be convicted if the Democratic House majority led by the enraged Adam Schiff crew impeach him again. Adam said the other night that investigations will rule the day. We certainly do not want lawmaking to interfere with the investigation show.
